Maul to Direct Hydraulic Institute's Education Programs

September 8, 2008

The Hydraulic Institute (HI), North America's largest pump association and global authority on pumps and pumping systems, has named Mary K. Maul as its new director of knowledge and education, according to a recent press release.

In this newly-formed position, Maul will be responsible for developing, marketing, and creating the funding for educational programs as well as certification and credentialing initiatives that advance the application, testing, installation, operation, and maintenance of pumps and pumping systems. These functions, which also include the development of the organization' s short- and long-term educational planning strategies, will be coordinated directly with associated committees, volunteers, members and HI' s sister organization Pump Systems Matter™.

"We are thrilled to extend our organization's capabilities with Mary's wealth of educational programming and continuing education expertise," says Robert Asdal, executive director. "We are sure she will help us achieve our goal of becoming the foremost global authority on pumps and pumping systems, while offering a wide package of informational, value-added services to member companies and pump users worldwide."

Maul brings more than 15 years of senior-level management experience to the position. Most recently, she served as the director of education at the National Society of Professional Engineers, which she joined in 2001. For five years, Maul directed all of the society's educational initiatives including the development of new educational and e-learning products and services for more than 48,000 members as well as coordinated with volunteer leadership committees to define strategic objectives and educational program priorities.
