WEF Offers Free Training on Critical Sector Interdependencies

The Water Environment Federation, through a cooperative agreement with the Federal Emergency Management Agency of the Department of Homeland Security, announced a training program focused on the interdependencies among the water sector and other critical sectors including energy, information technology, and transportation.

WEF will offer three pilot training sessions and possibly seven regional training sessions. The three confirmed pilot sessions are:

• Oct. 14-15, 2008 in Chicago, Ill.

• Nov. 5-6, 2008 in San Francisco, Calif.

• Jan. 7-8, 2009 in Atlanta, Ga.

The training is free to water and wastewater (water sector) utility executives and managers, as well as lead representatives from other sectors. In addition, the association will provide hotel accommodations for up to two nights for qualified participants and limited travel reimbursement may be available. Registration is limited and interested parties are encouraged to apply for one of the three pilot training sessions as soon as possible.
